NOTES TO MUSTER
Keeping with our tradition we are trying to bring you many various exeperiences.
Last year's format proved to be reasonably favorable, so we are sticking to it.
Late-morning Start on Friday gives a chance for some people to roll into town, possibly check-in and settle before venturing onto the Field. All Tours are slotted for 3 hours with about 1 hour break in between (if the tour is concluded earlier - it only adds to your free time). Sunday Tour is also timed in such way that allows you to have Breakfast and check-out without any hurry.
While both Friday Tours and Saturday's Tour 3 were previously covered - we feel that having a new leader will bring a new perspective to your views of the Events. In addition, the constantly ongoing clearing of the woods in the area of Robertson's Avance will hopefully offer as close of a vista as it actualy was during the Battle.
Saturday Tour 1 will take us into the area outside the town previously unexplored, but just as interested in the Battle Lore and Tour 2 will be the 1st Time CWDG Musterees shall explore the Actions of Bliss Farm.
Finally - continuing the Encouragement of Sharing Our Own Knowledge - we have extended to Gerry Mayers the chance of leading HIS FIRST TOUR! Gerry is very knowledgeable in The Battle of Sharpsburg and we are Proud to have him agree to lead us on that Field of Honor & Glory.
Thank You, and we sincerely Hope that you will Enjoy the upcoming Experience just as much as you did the previous ones!
See you in October! _________________ I Remain

I didn't want this to slip from anyones thoughts. Can I assume ol pete that the schedule is still on as you posted for the 13, 14, & 15th.? I think we can actually make it this year! As of now it looks good. Am really looking forward to it as it may be the only visit we make this year. _________________ "I Left My Spectacles Over There, What Is The Name Of This Town?"....................................

Phil -
As it stands right now, and bar any unforseeable circumstances - the schedule is as stands.
I will probably start reminders and 'Dinner Reservations' in the beginning of September. (However, if anyone knows FOR SURE that they will partake - you're more than welcome to throw me an e-mail, so I can start a list and e-mail you back the instructions et al)
It will be GRAND to see you & Karen - you are LONG OVERDUE!!!! _________________ I Remain

Scott Mingus was supposed to do the second tour on Friday at muster, and was to cover East Cemetery Hill.
Unfortunately, Scott has had a scheduling conflict arise that will prevent him from making this year's muster. This means that the time slot is now open, and we would love it if someone from the group stepped up and was willing to do something for us during that slot. It can be a discussion of East Cemetery Hill, but doesn't have to be. It can be anything that we want it to be.
If anyone is interested in filling that slot, please let me know.
Thanks!

Hi all,
just read this post.. If it wasnt for the fact that my house is going on the markety shortly, and dealing with other issues at home........
I would gladly talk about well GKW, Patty, Strong, Stephen, Charles and some other guy name Joshua...
But alas, that is not a possiblility this year............
Next year? When I am down there permanently? Thats a different story.

Evening all,
While I will not be able to attend the Muster, those who do attend are in for a treat in terms of the tours available.
Have done the XI Corps tour with Eric at a previous muster, and it was one of the better ones I have taken down at Gettysburg. Good to see that J.D. will be focusing on Sandoe, as that is a story of the campaign that gets neglected.
The Bliss Farm action is the one I will be sorry to miss. Have spent a lot of time out there by myself, mostly because of the NJ troops involved there, and it would have been great to be out there with the group.

Wow! That's one phenomenal forecast!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The dry crunch of decay beneath your feet, the crispness and far horizons of Autumn in all its glory................does it get any better than October in the Burg??
If I get really greedy, I'll be asking for a nice wind of about 20 out of the West to really bliss me out!!
Gonna be nice and chilly, one of those "three lung days" when I feel like I could take a breath that lasts forever, not the faintest hint of that soppy moisture that bothers me so much in Summer.............
Its gonna be great!!!!!!!!!!
Regards,

As you all know by now, Scott Mingus had to back out of his scheduled tour for Friday afternoon due to a scheduling conflict. I think that the plan is to give folks the option of having that as free time, but since Stan Petestreet--new resident of the East Cavalry Field area--has asked me to give him my tour of ECF, I'm happy to have anyone else along who cares to join us. We will convene on Friday afternoon at 3:00 and meet at the power station on Hoffman Road on Brinkerhoff's Ridge.

I just returned from a quick run to Antietam and GB all 38 hours.
The trees are just beginning to turn, so it will be gorgeous while you are there.
The tree cutting that has taken place behind the Saugther pen takes your breath away.
I will be thinking of you all.............
Have a wonderful weekend..........

When the Tour concludes in that area - those with vehicles there can drive back those whose vehicles are parked on Warfield Ridge.
