Just to see how everyone looks at America,.....from conception to present,....name what you believe to be the Top three American Heroes of all time in "YOUR" book. I guess there is no real wrong answer here. It may be a political figure for some,...military, or humanitarian I reckin. I just thought it would be a different way for us to see how our backgrounds/regional up-bringings and beliefs may affect the way we pick our Heroes.
Also,....Rick Allen,....D.B. Cooper doesn't count!!!!!!! LMAO _________________ Best Regards,

JD, Mark,....
You guys are gonna get it when General Longstreet shows up for y'alls FDR choice. Just so happens I'm an FDR fan myself. Allan and I had a friendly disagreement about the man over a few drinks of Vodka and Crown Royal at A.W. Shucks in Charleston. Seems the man doesn't hold FDR in very high regard,...and a few drinks does not sway him from that stance either. :)))) _________________ Best Regards,

Many have been able to call themselves politicians. Few can claim to have risen to the level of world statesman, in the truest sense of the word. I think that FDR is one of those 'few'.
Best wishes,

Y'all so much fixated on FDR, I just want to know how in Blaze's Name did y'all miss Mark's Banastre Tarleton? Well at least he gave us a nice American slang-word :geek:
As far as FDR - say what you want, but a Socialist is a Socialist, even if he is one of the 'Greatest' Presidents. Once of these days, I Sincerely Hope everyone will learn to read between the lines, and whole of a sudden - FDR is not going to appear in the limelight. Trust me, I so much wish that I was wrong, but unfortunately I'm not. The Country as a whole still reels from some of his 'reforms', if you will...
That said -
George W (he-he take it or leave it)
Rob't E Lee
Ronald W. Reagan

Allan,
I almost thought that I'd dangled that one into the river, but wasn't going to get a tickle. Should have guessed that I'd get a bite from you! :evil2:
Banastre Tarleton showed all the noble qualities of horsemanship, leadership, military prowess, determination, ... :evil3:
Moreover, he demonstrated that most virtuous of qualities. LOYALTY. :occasion5:
Don't know of the 'slang-word, but I'm sure it was complimentary in the extreme.
Best wishes,
Mark
PS. I hope you all enjoy your 'thanksgiving' today. :drunken: _________________ "History must not be written with bias, and both sides must be given, even if there is only one side." JOHN BETJEMAN

Don't know if sticking innocent civilians into a town's church, locking the doors and setting the building on fire can be contributed to any of the virtues above.
(Don't argue - it's in the movie, so IT MUST BE SO! :albino: _________________ I Remain

No doubt Mel Gibson would be in it! Most anti-British films have, and the only failure of his, so far, was not to blame us for the crucifixion. Would that be the same film that omitted his character was a slave owner, abuser of ... ? :diabloanifire:
I think I'll stop there as I feel myself getting all emotional! :tongue1:
Best wishes,

PS. This will be continued, at a later date - face to face :violent1: _________________ "History must not be written with bias, and both sides must be given, even if there is only one side." JOHN BETJEMAN
