LOL, everyone is wonderful here. Son will be 4 this Sunday and the daughter is 16 months old now. Miss Hollie is back teaching full time and attending UGA getting her Masters. I hope all is well your way, Eric. Same goes for everyone else here. And to any newbies I've never met, well,.........you haven't missed much.
Ok Eric, Henry County saved this 300 acre battlefield from developement by raising money to save a "bit of history", the public went for it and raised the money (millions) about 3 years ago. Now there's some very strong claims from a small group that say the raid happened a good mile down the road and that the Nash Farm saw no action what-so-ever. I assume this happened just before and in conjunction with the fall of Jonesboro and the Railroad south to Griffin and Macon, the only railroad still feeding Hood in Atlanta. Also, is this "your" Kilpatrick or a different Kilpatrick? He lead a large force of Cavalry on a raid, Confederate forces moved to counter it.......this has to be late summer of 64, that's all I can tell you. I need someone more in the know to fill in the gaps.
I want no part in this fight, but it would be rather entertaining to know which group is truly the dumbass brigade. _________________ Best Regards,

Yep, 4 years,...................you're getting older (lmao). So tell me about your dogs, I assume in the last year or so I've missed some terrible news. But I also like to think I missed some wonderful new addition to the family via a pup or two.
Thanks for the heads up on Kilpatrick btw, that man saw all of the east during 4 short years it seems. _________________ Best Regards,

Sad, but true. We lost Cleo to cancer in March 2006. We had to put her down at age 9. Fortunately, the breeder where we got Nero had a litter that was ready to go home just a few days later, and Aurora came home to live with us.
Then, last October, we had to put Augie down at 11 years, 9 months. He'd developed a form of cancer that attacks the blood vessels, and had caused his spleen to rupture. Luckily, he had only one bad day, which was how we learned he was sick, but it was really hard. He was a wonderful, sweet, gentle dog, and he's still missed by all of us, and especially by Aurora. He was her protector.
So, we have Nero, who's three, and Aurora, who's two. We're thinking about taking in a rescue dog once the mud season ends.
Thanks so much for asking.

William,
Check the thread on weather reports - you'll see where we've all been. Shoveling!
Was driving around today looking at the 4 foot snowbanks on the sides of the road and thinking, "why can't we ship all this to Georgia and solve both our problems?"
Cannot believe Jackson is 4. Wasn't he born last week?
Glad to hear all's well -

Ellis, we had snow twice in January, unthinkable for our area. And I have you know it's a chilly 48 out right now, however I must admit I wore shorts today, high of 69 with plenty of sun. I really don't see how you guys deal with that stuff................a day or two of deep snow would be cool as hell, but errr, after that I'd go insane.
I like your idea of trading snow and weather for water and run-off. North West Georgia is hurting.............and as usual the Georgia House is making us look like backwater idiots with their attack on the Tennessee border.
Rick, Pete sent me pix of this years Pirate Party..........I lmfao at Captain Morgan. I can't help but wonder what the hell your neighbors think. Now on to other matters. I assume you've paid your fair share of visits this winter to Gettysburg. How is the tree clearing going up there? I like to assume new site lines have been exposed and a few questions have been answered on the south end of the field with the new visuals. I must admit every time I read anything about day two I still think of you and John R. getting to walk around on the fields monthly and I feel more than left out. Also, is Tim still alive and drinking? _________________ Best Regards,

Hey Wild Bill !! We are right here Bill, where we always been !!
I was thinking about you and Miss Hollie the other day and wondered how big those gorgeous children of yours are and if ya fell off the face of the earth ? Wow, Miss Hollie is keeping herself hopping with 2 wee ones and teaching and going for her Masters.. wow !! You got a super woman there Bill !! I bet you are just lovin bein a dad !!
So you got a piece of history down the road from you ... with Eric's favorite cav guy Kilpatrick ... glad to hear the land was saved but that small group of people need to be informed !
It is truly good to hear from you. And don't let Ellis fool you, she thrives on that white frozen stuff !!! We got a few inches, but nothing to sneeze about. You can keep your 70 degree weather, I will be just fine with the temps in the teens tonite. Good snuggle weather.
Eric - I think you must have lost Augie around the time Allan lost Donovan .. tough times for you animal lovers. ( I am be we have allergy problems here ) Now 3 & 2 ..that's a good age difference between the two golden furry kids. You know what happens when you put another in there ..sometimes, 3 is chaos .
Hope you get some more information on what happened there ..you stand the gap Will Bill ..you tell them what really happened there !!
Have a nice cold winter nite,

It was within a week or so, and no, it was no fun. These animals find their way into your heart and become a part of the family. It's like saying goodbye to a loved one.

Oh Eric, you ole softy hearted guy !! One of my best friends has 3 Irish Setters that she takes to dog shows and trains, and just loves those furry red kids. There is nothing that she won't do for them either, just like a kid ! I imagine you and Susan are just as pampering to yours.
We have a pet cemetery not far from our home and I have wondered that way for a walk amongst the pets. It is near the woods and quite lovely and some of the gravestones are so lovely remembering their pets. It is a peaceful place for them.
