Christie, thanks for posting that. I hope some of our members can make it up to see General Longstreet, he's a dear friend of ours and any event he is involved in has to be very well done indeed!

And welcome to the board, btw.

Regards,

Rick

Rick, thanks.

Yes, Manor College is very fortunate to have Longstreet participate in this event this year. He did an event here at the college back in the spring, a "Meet the Generals" night along with Generals Meade and Hancock, and he was very well received by all in attendance.

I hope you will be able to join us.

Christine

Alas, I have a previous engagement, but it sure does sound like an excellent event.

Regards,

Rick

"1960's Ladies Picnic (under the leadership of Linda “Ellis”) "

Oh my, you will be very pleasantly surprised at this fine lady and her picnic. Any presentation she makes is bound to bring the ladies role to light.

And all those fine generals presenting .. you are in for a fine treat !

Wish I could be there but this is band season, and I don't get anywhere near the fields this time of the year.

Oh btw, pleased to make your acquaintance Chris, it is good to have another female around here. Be sure to stop by the good General Longstreet's HQ and chat awhile with him. A bit of the Fifer is always around at the HQ's.

I have not met all these ladies as of yet, but I have heard only good things, so I am looking forward to meeting them.

Most of the Generals presenting I have had the pleasure of meeting a few times now and I'm thrilled to have them all with us.

I did stop by Gen. Longstreet's HQ while at Lambertville with my son, everyone was very welcoming and it was a great experience for both my son and myself. Southern hospitality at it's finest, I would say.

Thanks for the welcome guys.

Is it a 1960s picnic or an 1860s picnic?

I would definitely hope it would be an 1860s picnic!

Thank you kindly. I was fairly sure that the 1860s was meant. Would be interesting to have a 1960s picnic at an 1860s style event, no???

LOL .. That would be great !! Everyone show up in red checked sleeveless cotton button down blouses and pedal pushers with Keds deck shoes and little white cotton socks !! Very much 1960's but nowhere near the 1860's picnic attire!! haha ... Now, I am going to research what the 1860's attire would be for a lovely afternoon picnic, from the southern view point or from the Nawth.

You will enjoy Linda's well planned and researched event. Wish I could be there in my garb. Have fun and don't forget your gloves and parasol.

Mindy

Except Maj. Fairfax who would show up as a "Man From Mars" ala 2060s
