While watching the Rangers 3rd straight win tonight, I flipped over to the Travel Channel to see their 7 hour ghost fest live from Gettysburg.
What a joke, and really is a sad commentary on the wing nuts who actually follow this dribble. Hell, in the 5 minutes I watched, those "experts" walked into a house down there, and in 2 seconds they were "communicating" with 4 ghosts. How?? The Ghosts knocked on the floor. LOL...You can't make this crap up.
Best moment, one of the hosts asked a ghost to kick a member of the experts outside the Farnsworth House, and naturally the "ghost" did, and the guy who was "kicked" fell back as if he took a bullet in the leg.
For those looking for laughs, or want to see what an embarassment the town of Gettysburg has become, this "live event" continues until 3 AM tomorrow morning.
Have fun at the seance at the Jenny Wade House. Have heard Mary Todd will be attending.
A few years back it was proven to be mostly a hoax. A video surfaced of them making the sounds (knocks, voices, etc) themselves and talking to people off camera about coordinating these events. It was never supposed to have been seen by the public, but perhaps a camera man got too fed up with this hooey?
I can't believe it's still allowed to air. I guess most people will watch anything to confirm their believes.
Personally, I don't need some crazy screaming British lady to tell me what I've experienced is real.

I watched bits and pieces of it while watching the Blackhawks (lose to the Rangers unfortunately) and laughed most of the way through it. I found it amazing that the "mediums" were able to hear ghosts tell them names......of people that listed in a lot of histories of Gettysburg. What a joke. I am disappointed that the NPS even let them use pictures of the PA Memorial at night. Thank goodness, they did let them do any "experiments on the battlefield itself.

Oh ..... that Jenny Wade seance with the 'weegee' board was so enlightening .. why even Corp Michael came to answer a few questions and Jenny didn't want to talk because she was 'sick' thus says the board !!! and even said she was 'DEAD" !! DUH???? !! At that point even all the squeelings of ms brit and her 'did you hear that?' every two seconds got to Sammie and she was off to sleep.
I decided to stick with it to just see what the 'in the woods' meyheim had to be .. didn't disappoint ... ' Get out from there or I'll kill you - I don't know what with ' ... 'did you see that ?' ... between spastic camera jolts and the 'oh I felt that icy finger on my shoulder' .... give me a break .. and I fell fast asleep with my remote in hand This stuff should stay across the pond ! So that's why I am up at this ungodly hour writing this !
Was that 'headquarters' at the Rupp House?
It got so bad, I just had to check in with our infamous general and see if the gang at the muster caught up with the camera crews all over town and if the bad lt knew there was a seance at Jenny's place ..why he wouldn't want to miss a second of that event !! Sammie just howled in the background ... boring !!! How can people take this stuff seriously ??
Laura Annie ..you are right and how did they let this three-ring circus in the Burg anyhow ???

Yea all of these icons show my emotions and feelings as I switched back and fourth between the DBR that my son had done of the Phighten Phils whoppin of the Dodgers, (Please tell me who has the better pitching staff?). and this..
And after about ohhhh 10 minutes of this drivel two thoughts came to me.
1.,) Where the heck were "the boys" as I kept waiting for either the Bad LT or old Pete pop up to shout it all down.. Or make a complete wreck of their little show...
2.) THen it struck me as well in this. I have been one of those who have experienced up close and personal the very thing they were seeking.
Yet my experience was vastly different. Mine was because well , I respect those who gave their lives there, and I try to honor them in every thing I do there. And yet they are using that sacrifice THEIR sacrifice for $$$$$$$$$
H*ll they would have saved a lot of money and time if they had just gone into the place were the Address is given in the New VC and sat there listening looking out the window. Much more of an impact IMHO.
And it made me mad, frustrated and sad.
I think you all know what I think of it. Enough said.

Yeah, Jim, my thoughts precisely. They haven't a clue what honor is about. Go back to the icy castles and prisons on the pond, and 'bring out ye dead' !
And as we both know, they will never capture the sights we have seen and experienced and never will.

Town was packed this weekend. Whether it was the Apple Freaks or the Ghost Freaks is hard to say..............probably both combined with a stunning weather weekend contributed to the numbers.
Mindy, the MOST HAUNTED crew had the Farnsworth house as thier HQ as I understand it. I didnt see the show, but I've heard a ton about it already and cant wait to watch it.
Now guys, we were out at ECF, so we didnt get to see any ghosts. We didnt even get to see any ghost hunters either. I did hear that there were about a hundred people all dressed in black milling about in front of the Farnsworth as if the house was going to levitate or something, but other than those eyewitness accounts, I didnt see any of the crew, the filming, or anything.
Thats the Official story.
Unofficially, I spent the night dressed as a fugitive slave and split my time between the Dobbin House and the brick joint where the bread-baking whore got shot. Mostly I was wedged in the rafters making spooky noises, but now and then I'd drop a pebble.
I was very suprised about the lynching of poor Terrence Jones......though. LOL

Rick,
It was probably the Ghost freaks hunting for apples. lol They know when the pickins are good.
That would make sense in the Farnsworth, I have never been in the place proper, just the tavern and ouside. I heard those pebbles in the Dobbin House .. thought that sounded like the Bad Lt.
Get Merlin out of the room when you watch the woods scenes Rick, he just might fall over from fright !
Why would any self respecting ghoul come tromping on ECF ???
Glad you guys had so much fun. Now, the Cashtown report ... I can wait for that one !! One of my pics with my dad and Sammie have that crazy lady in the window on the second floor looking out at me while I take the photo.

Yes! Thank you dear heart for waking me up from my fitful slumber
Obviously, as Lt stated, we were as far away from this crazy place as possible. On Saturday, after Stan's Tour, I ran into town for some things I had to purchase before heading back to the trailer, and I have to tell you that this crowd was larger than "The Anniversary" crowd! The streets were PACKED, Baltimore St was one huge parking lot going both ways and Rte 30 congested as well.
I know some of the Musterees were going to hit the fields, so I am curious as to how they fared in that. _________________ I Remain

Mindy, if things break like I think they will, Cashtown should easily rival Bermuda.
Allan is right though, we were far enough out of town that we didnt see hide nor hair of anyone related to 'Most Haunted' last weekend. Which is good, since I hate that show.
