I know it's off the CW topic but figured I'd pust this here. Has anybody has seen this yet? What did you think? It looks good.

We saw it last night. I am a big Johnny Depp fan and this movie has an incredible cast.

I am not, however, a Michael Mann fan, and it left me with the impression that I was watching Miami Vice, set in 1933 Chicago. The performances are first rate, but the directing left a LOT to be desired.

I went with my son and Eric's critique is dead on. The movie while good left me wanting more. And it portrays Dillinger as a Robin Hood Do Good type character. It's not a movie I would pay to see a second time. More like a made for televison type of movie, not the grand cinematic event it could have been, especially with a great cast.

I told Jill after it was over I enjoyed but it wasn't something I would buy to watch over and over, i might rent it sometime. A few historical inaccuracies, but then what doesn't have those? All in all, I guess not a bad way to spend a couple hours on a hot summer night.
Regards,
Keith

Thanks to all of you for your input. Not sure my wife wants to see it so maybe once it's out on dvd.

A compliant press, broadcast and print from the big cities, running cover for advocates of state solutions that always end up making things worse.... oops...wrong movie... :o)
