More BS from The Channel Formerly Known As The History Channel. I watched R. Lee Ermey's "Lock N' Load" episode about tanks and was completely disappointed. There were more factual inaccuracies than I'll even attempt to list. Regarding the M60 tanks (the first tanks I served in during my Army career) the show was just flat out WRONG not only on technical details but on the history itself.
Ermey talked about M60 tanks in Vietnam while showing footage of M48 tanks. There weren't any M60 tanks in Vietnam. The only M60 variants deployed were the Combat Engineer Vehicle and the Armored Vehicle Launched Bridge, not the tanks. One might think that a USMC Vietnam vet would know that, or at least a "History" channel editor might actually look into some of the facts before rolling the cameras.
The following episode about pistols wasn't much better. Flat out wrong information about the Colt Model 1860 as well as the development of double action revolvers, etc.
IMHO this show is a waste of time. _________________ Mike Nugent
